Making the hard choice

I have spent some time with M&P's and it is not my cup of tea. I shot a couple but just couldnt get comfortable with it. I am leaning away from glock all together for now. Inless i can find nothing glock will be my fall back gun. I cant own two, I can own one money issues are part of the reason for selling. I want CZ or Sig. But CZ is my first pick. 97B is the ultimate goal.

I would love to but couple of problems. I made a deal and I keep my word. Some may think its stupid or that you should never sell guns but the glock was my first gun so I was jaded. It doesn't fit me well so I chose to fine something different. Also money problems influence this sale. I am looking at sigs but having a hard time finding them for the right price everyone wants a lot of money for used guns and that fine that is there right. Me I will be shopping around until I find the right deal for me. Lastly CZ has a kick ***** reputation and they are around the same price as glocks some a little more than others. Glock also has this reputation but I have tried them and feel something else may be better suited for me.

The Sig 2022 is a solid gun and on the lower end of your price range. You can get them new at Turners with standards sights for like $399 on sale, night sights $499. They sell used here all the time though sometimes they want the same or more than they paid. For a gun that goes on sale so often, I'd probably just buy a new one. And you never know, deals do pop up. I sold my Sp2022 in .40 with a 9mm conversion barrel, holster, extra mags and ammo for like $600 if I recall correctly. It was a smoking deal at the time but I had just bought a 1911 and when the ol' ball and chain saw how much I paid for it.. I didn't really have a choice

If the Sp2022 doesn't fit you well you may look at finding a P6.. though I haven't seen many of those floating around lately. Also try the M&P lineup. In my opinion, between Glock, SigPro and M&P, I believe any shooter can come p with something that feels great in their hand and shoots reliably to boot. They are 3 solid platforms that all have a unique feel and some are not for everyone. Find yours.

Hey guys i have a question i hope you can help me with. if i have a person ship their firearm through an FFL (you have to do this right) to another FFL do i have to pay tax? I ask this because its still a PPT right just that shipping is involved. Help me understand this please.

If the person is the actual owner, No, you don't pay CA tax. You just pay the FFL transfer fee(which is taxed) and the DROS fee.

Oh my, I'm sorry I didn't see anywhere that the OP said he wouldn't consider a compact. Not to mention aside from the barrel being a whopping half inch shorter than a 226, most people consider the 2022 to be a rather large "compact". Especially in terms of lop and grip thickness even with the thinnest backstrap. Thanks for the critique though.

Then he might as well get a Kahr, because the barrel is only 3.5" vs 3.9" on the 2022........ see the logic? You have to draw the line somewhere. My ex wife has a 2022...... it's very decent for what it is.

Who are you to draw that line for him? In that case, he should really be getting a true full sized pistol, after all, that wimpy 4.6 in a cz75 is nothing compared to the all mighty 5" 1911. And a 4.4 in a P226? Gotta draw the line somewhere right? I guess I missed the seminar where they explained how to determine gun size based on barrel length.

I want to state that this will be a range toy, HD, and fun gun for me. I am looking for a good all around. Full size or compact is okay with me just nothing so small that i will break it if i sneeze. I am a bigger sized guy.

Not just barrel length, grip also... do you want the magazine to provide a significant portion of the grip.... for a range gun? If you have a 2022, I'm not trying to step on your toes...

If you are not carrying, DO NOT BUY A COMPACT.... there is no reason. You don't need to compromise barrel length (which does effect the amount of "flip") and grip length for a bedside gun, range target gun, or outdoor gun.

Sig p2022 in .40s&w is nice, and you can buy a drop in .357 sig barrel and use the same mags. Two guns in one.

Also

Sig P220 (a bit more than your budget) are very nice.

Both are great shooters.
