When i got my RIA 1911 Tactical, I had a few FTFs as well.
Clean an lube your gun, well. I noticed it likes to be pretty wet initially and runs great with less now that i have 1k+ through it.
My first problem was FTFs with the slide not locking back- checked extractor tension and noted it was WAY too tight. Loosened it up a bit and
My second problem was ammo hitting the slide stop on their way up, causing slide to lock back prematurely. got a new slide stop and
All good. over 500 rounds (after fixes) and 3 treatments of frog lube and it's been great. also added a 18lb recoil spring, which is SWEET
Make sure your extractor is tunes right, and make sure your new slide stop isn't getting hit as well.
lube it up!
