    Multiple Transfer Question

I would like to do a PPT transfer and purchase from a FFl .

Can I do a PPT transfer and purchase from an FFL at the sametime?

Or do I have to wait 10 days apart and do the transfer one at a time?

    Thanks in advance.

You may do a (or several) PPT's and your 1 per 30 day FFL purchase. Just did it last month.

PPT's are exempt from the one in 30 day rule. Also, long guns are exempt. You can PPT as many handguns you can afford and purchase as many long guns as well. I believe you can put up to 5 long guns on a single DROS, but only one handgun per DROS. SO, if buying a new handgun from an FFL, and aquiring another through PPT, you can get both at the same time. Only one 10 day wait for both, considering you begin DROS on the same day.

But you would have to wait until the end of the second DROS to be able to pick both of them up.

The way the law is written it is 10 24 hour periods; not 10 days.
        Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

I think City of LA has a special restriction on this. Worth looking into first.

              You are correct Sir.

If this is done in the city of Los Angeles they do apply PPT's to your 1 in 30.

Make sure you are not doing these in the city of LA.

My relevant experience. I bought one at a gun shop AND did a ppt (transfer to me) on the same day and same shop. I was able to pick both up on the 10th day a few mins after the 2nd DROS time. So what morrcarr67 was saying.

Keep in mind some FFL dealers don't like doing this, because of the extra paperwork required.

                    Per Federal laws/regulations...
When a person acquires two or more handguns within 5 days, the FFL dealer must notify the BATFE of the transfers.
