Solid choice for a conceal 9mm...

now, clean/lube it, shoot it....3-500 rounds to learn the trigger....like the others have said, it's like a DA revolver - and be sure to send the type of rounds you will carry down range as well.

then, clean/lube it again, shoot it some more confidently knowing it's reliability/consistency.

other than taking out the mag safety, mine rolls stock and fits perfectly IWB @ 2:30/3 o'clock.

Mine was a piece of crap. The sights fell of the first time i shot it. It always had feeding issues. Buy an M&P Shield.

I mostly liked this gun out of the box. It has a great look and feel with a nice fit and finish by Ruger. Now that being said it has a horrible trigger and the magazine disconnect really bothered me. Luckily, both these issues were easily fix. I would recommend the Galloway trigger upgrade and the removal of the mag disconnect. Now that I have modded my LC9 it shoots like a dream and it is one of my favorite handguns to shoot!

But for the purpose of CCW, I would not do a single thing you recommended!

Precisely...modifying a CCW weapon, while not illegal, is just another piece of "evidence" the prosecution will use against you? Don't believe that, just look at the Zimmerman trial, where they claimed having a full mag +1 in the chamber somehow showed his "mindset", just imagine what they would have said if he had made that gun "easier to shoot"

This +1, or look into a SSE on a Springfield XD-S 9mm, both equally find CCW options

OP, next time you may want to research a pistol BEFORE making the purchase. I personally have owned two of these and the KelTec PF9 that it is a copy of. All horrible pistols to shoot (and before someone who "knows better" says something, I love shooting DAO revolvers, this gun's trigger is crap compared to a good DAO revolver). Ruger fans seem to love the gun, those without a sense of brand loyalty seem to eventually realize what a half-assed weapon the LC9 is.

I see someone else noticed it's on sale at Turners! I've been thinking about this one too, so thanks for the replies!

I bought one when the first came out..my first(and only) time buying a gun without trying it first. I absoulutly hated it..ling and stiff trigger-sloppy reset-i have shot DA revlovers with better triggers.Did I mention that I hated it? Sold it and bought a g26 for ccw. A little bulkier, but well worth it.

My primary gun for CCW is my G19, switching to Shield 9mm once in a while, depending on where I go, I'm also thinking of adding a S&W Bodyguard .380 as a backup pocket gun.

I love my shield and bodyguard. Between those two I all but stopped carrying my Sig P238. Built in laser on BG is great. Trigger is nothing special, but good for a "get off me" gun. I have been considering putting the XS Big Dot sights on mine.

SIG P238 is a bid too heavy for a small gun and too expensive to let them "confiscate" for evidence

Has anyone had issue carrying 7+1? My wife has one and it will not go into battery and FTF (feed, not fire) if I release the slide stop with 7 in the mag. It will only go into battery if I release the slide stop with 6 in the mag... 5+1 kinda stinks for a gun that should be carried 7+1...

I completely disagree. Both weight and cost are subjective. It weighs smooth the same loaded as an airweight J-frame, which many are happy to use as a pocket gun, and as far as cost goes, I know my life is worth more than $600, so who cares if it gets taken away after it serves its purpose and keeps me alive.
