I'd sell the Gold Cup...the series 80's are ok, but not the same as the series 70 trigger....the Python's on the other hand never changed - always the feel of a roller bearing for the smoothness of the trigger.

      Just my opinion....

I would sell the python. It will bring a pretty penny right now and I'm more fond of the 1911 than the wheel gun, all personal prefrence though

Now that I see the guns, without question I'd sell the python.

It's worth more than the GC and I'll bet that GC is sweet shooter! I love the wide trigger.

Keep'em both! Though things maybe tight now, money is much easier to replace.

Personally I'd sell the Python while its still the fad gun that everyone wants. They aren't made any more but that doesn't make them Hard to find. Think bout how many pythons you see weekly in the FS section.. I really just don't see demand exceeding supply anytime soon. Then once everyone who is going to pay top dollar for one gets theirs, price will deflate back to reality. Even if you sell it for $2500+ they still get listed every once in a while for like 1500. Buy one of those.

Dump the 1911. They are everywhere, everyone and their mother makes/has one. It's not interesting. Colt Python is a whole other thing ...

Both of those are neat and all but if you're desperate for cash you'd be dumb not to sell em both and replace them with more practical shooters. I was in the same spot awhile back, I had some rifles I really wanted to keep but I also had a toothache and a gigantic credit card bill, when the time comes you gotta do what you gotta do.

both or neither, once the new laws pass you won't be able to sell them or buy them again.

If that Gold Cup were a series 70 or earlier, it would be a harder decision.

But being an 80-series and in stainless, the "Gold Cup" moniker is just that; a selling gimmick akin to "Limited Edition". I look at my earlier Gold Cups versus those from the 80-series stainless examples, and the fit, finish and build quality is quite better on the earlier guns, and is just not that special within the 80-series examples; they don't seem much better-made than a standard Government Model.

Sell the 80 Series Gold Cup. Keep the Python.

I have no idea what you are talking about as "the new laws" won't change anything to do with PPT as it is now.

One of the new laws will make it so you can't ppt a off roster gun to someone that isn't exempt like an LEO. I haven't kept up to date with all of the laws since they are sort of depressing so I don't know if it was denied.
