Sell the Series 80 Gold Cup
You can always get a gold cup. Although it's not on the roster, you can do it SSE. -
Depends on why you're selling. Are they safe queens, how often do you shoot them? If $$$ is needed and you will never buy another pistol, the python. But if your selling for $$ and might replace it in the future, then the Gold cup because you'll be able to find the SS 80's for a decent price. Pythons are not made anymore and the prices keep going up, esp if it's the blued. If they are safe queens then the one you shoot the least or less attached to. If it were me, I'd try and sell something else. Got both and do not plan on selling either. I think I'd let everything else go first before I get rid of my colts.Comment

I would not sell any firearms. Think of all the trouble, wait periods, paperwork and costs involved in obtaining guns. Later if you change your mind. Then, what is the replacement cost? Perhaps you can obtain funding, if that is the problem, through other sacrifices. Good luck in your decision, hope you keep them all. The guns you mention are beautiful! Keep them where they are.Bad economy, shoot 3 Cal guns: .45acp .30-06 .50bmgComment

I have both of those pistol but mine is a highly customized 70's series. I would be really torn between the two if I had to sell them. I would get rid of the 80's series though if I were in your boots. You can sell that, get a nice 70's series or another nice 1911 in whatever your flavor.Comment

Thanks for the input. The Gold Cup is a shooter, the Python is pretty much a safe queen. You make a good point on selling everything first before Colts. However, my Glocks and Sigs would only bring in a few bucks which is why they're not even worth selling. I'd rather just shoot the hell out of them.Depends on why you're selling. Depends on the money situation. Pythons are way above realistic market value right now. I would consider the Python, since you may be able to sell it now, and replace it (albeit with much difficulty) for a lesser price down the line. Its risky, but not completely out of the question.
