I am looking for a Sig Sauer 9mm.
Could you all provide me with pros/cons purchasing a handgun through this web site.
Of course I will have it shipped through my FFL dealer.
Is the time spent on gunsamerica.com worth the trouble/transfer/shipping cost/FFL Fee?
As opposed to just buying here?
This will be a CA purchase.

I can't list all the pros or cons, but here are some.

Pro: may save money
Con: after your FFL tacks on the transfer fee (not DROS), that can shrink to almost nothing (or even higher cost). Check with your FFL before buying anything to make sure they will accept and what the fee is (can be as high as 200)

Pro: gun is available
Con: can't inspect before purchase
Con: chance of scam (slim if you research first and don't buy from new vendors on the site)


Pro: if you can find a willing dealer, you may be able to find a non-rostered gun that can be sent to be modified for SSE (either by them, your FFL, or another out of state FFL) more easily than you could find the same gun in CA
Con: many of the dealers there won't ship even rostered guns to CA because they don't want to risk breaking CA laws.

Gunsamerica rocks. The only downside is having to wait on shipping and then having to start the 10 day jail period.
Otherwise its great. Saved alot of money on there.

Its hard to get a deal when you're getting hit with 9% sales tax. Guess you can just avoid buying from a business.

I got my P226 from a dealer on gunsamerica.com and everything was smooth and easy. Make sure the dealer has 100% positive feedback and you'll be good.

The best is to contact the seller 1st on either Gunsamerica or Gunbroker, also buying from an FFL have a less chance of getting ripped off! I never buy from a private party.

If you have patience, don't want it this very second, and know what CA compliant model you want, contact yzernie in the commercial section of the Sale Forum.
PM him, don't just post on his thread. He's a great guy to do business with and will usually bend over backward to accomodate you if he can.
He usually has the full range of Sig handguns and you can't beat his prices even with shipping and transfer fees. His stock is a little low, but he consistently gets product in.
