Kimber 1911 - Complete Breakdown

Came out nice bro. The grips match the pistol, too. Great job!
Here are some pics. I didn't get the slide cut via Sailient but will next time. Complete dis-assembly and I Duracoated over the Kim Pro II finish.
I will say the Kim Pro II finish isn't nearly as durable as Duracoat. When I roughed up the surface using Scotch Brite, it came off easily. On my other Duracoat projects, Duracoat is much tougher and harder to remove.
Anyway, thanks for the link. Once this finish is completely beat, I'll do it again with the cuts and new sights.
- Complete dis-assembly
- Duracoat in Tactical Coyote Brown (best to apply using an airbrush - I heated the parts up to about 100 degrees before painting then and then baked at 170 for 1 hr)
- 10-8 Slide Release (IMHO a must have upgrade over the factory one - no need to worry about idiot marks here)
- Ed Brown Magwall - also Duracoated. I'm just waiting on the internal parts for it gets installed
- VZ Operator 2 - low profile in Hyena Brown (grip is awesome, Kimber factory is horrible)
- VZ Radiation screws
- Chip M - 10rnd Mag Plus
