so all i would be checking for is the barrel if it has the 2 lined grooves going across sideways correct? the other models would have a straight flat barrel with no grooves?

Yes, and the mark VII's are narrower.
Mark XIX as wide as your thumb on top and 2 slots across the barrel
Marx VII as wide as your pinky on top and no slots

Personal preference, but 50AE has better bragging rights and a HUGE flame, but more money to shoot. $30 for a box of 20!
.44 is more then enuff tho

in your opnion if cost on ammo wasnt a problem would the 50 be good for anything besides bragging rights?
