does anyone know where to get a slide for a desert eagle? Just a bare slide for a .44mag. Im not sure if anyone makes one or where to get an oem.

I'm hoping dachan will chime in. What's the original configuration of the DE pistol? Does it have the wide slotted rib on top of barrel or is it the narrow no slots for weaver scope mounting? If your friend has the 50AE original barrel then he has a XIX, they only made them in XIX configuration.

its a .44 im trying to find out if i can get a 50 conversion for it. also looking for another .44 slide. One or the other which ever is the best idea. Its the one with the long extended slide is all i know. Looking for a normal 6" slide

It has to be a mark XIX to convert. Mark XIX has the .50AE platforms (frame). Its wider then the mark XII's and I's. Easiest way to tell is to check the barrel. If its fluted, generally its a XIX. M.R.'s definition of fluted is if it has 2 slots going across the top of the of the barrel, one at rear of the barrel, and one at front.
You CAN buy the barrels for the mark XIX legally. You just cant dros a DE with any other barrel than the .44, and it HAS to be black (whole gun), UNLESS its a PPT, then you can dros ANY DE out there. Barrels DO NOT need to be dros'd.
WWW.MagnumResearch.com sells the barrels, and somethimes has them on sale. Google DE barrels and other shops may come up. Also, gunbroker?

And... if by any chance you were lucky enuff to get a DE that says Made in USA, then it IS a XIX. Some Ireali made DE's are mark XIX as well.

You mean barrel. The slides are the same length. You my have the extended barrel.

The only thing you need for the 50AE is the barrel and mag. Bolt is the same. These things are the shiet! I plan on using this if/when we do the CGNs piggy hunt. Porky Pig is gonna love it.
