    1911 frame?

Found this cleaning out a bunch of old stuff in my grandparents garage - No other parts............. It has zero markings.

It looks like an old 1911 frame? It does look different from the ones I have seen but I am no expert.

It looks like some version of a 1911 but it doesn't have the slot for the thumb safety. Look again all over, maybe you will find a marking .

Is there a slot for a grip safety? Doesn't look like it from what I see.

It does but it's a square and not the normal shape, thought this was odd~

It looks like it does have a slot for a grip safety. I would think thats what the hole in the frame to the very end (right) is for? If parts kits weren't so hard to get and expensive right now I would probably pick one up to see if I can get it all put together. Project for down the road I guess.........

A slot for the grip safety wouldn't be a hold on the side of the frame, it would he the upper half of the backstrap.

The grip screw holes are all wrong for a 1911. The rear tang looks wrong too.

Is that a depression around the upper grip screw boss?

Yes, it has a depression. It is odd. I wonder what it's from. I just pulled some 1911 grips and the screw holes are off by just a bit. Literally, NO MARKING(s) ANYWHERE on this frame.

A better lighted, focused, closer and properly oriented picture might help

I wonder if its a Polish Radom or maybe a early 1903 or so Colt frame?

                      Maybe a Ballester Molina?

                      Edit.

Not a Molina the tang is wrong for that too.
                      Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Shh!... In the current climant you have something no one recognizes as a banable handgun. Hide that baby. Build into a a solid graber stopper, off list, un-registered, goldmine.

Gotta figure out what it is before I can build it. My only problem! Really odd cause nothing matches that I can find.

I was checking out 1911 parts on eBay and ran across this, sure looks like your frame to me. It is a prop/replica.
