    Buffalo Bore Ammunition

Anyone used the stuff? Happy with the service from the company? Happy with the product?

Looking specifically at their hotter .357 loads.

Good stuff.....full power loads. I've used it in .45 Colt out of my Ruger Bisley Blackhawk.

Excellent quality. I have used a number of their products. All first rate - very high quality. Their speciality is high performance loads.

Used plenty myself and it's great. I have NEVER seen a bad review on any level, I don't believe. DoubleTap gets knocked for claiming velocities decently higher than anyone gets in real life. That doesn't happen to BB, which seems to be right on. Another great company is Underwood Ammo. They make REALLY freaking hot-loaded ammo and their incredible stated velocities are usually lower than what people measure in real life. BUT... very high quality, never exceeding safe pressures (I have never heard of an incident or even a sign of too-high pressure in the primers or cases, etc), well-priced, ship quickly. Excellent stuff. I've shot a few of their 10mm loads and some .44 magnum stuff. It's HOT!!!!

Got a few boxes in .357 mag. Great stuff! As others have said it is hot. I have not shot through a chronograph, but the amount of recoil tells me it is a good load. The accuracy was right on at 15 yards.

This reminds me of the question I neglected to ask in my original post.

Is there a point of diminishing returns with respect to accuracy when you start dealing with the upper end of the "hot" loads scale?

"Is there a point of diminishing returns with respect to accuracy when you start dealing with the upper end of the "hot" loads scale? " This starts to be a function of how well you tolerate recoil and are able to still do everything right. Very hot loads can be very accurate.

I recently rented a 10mm pistol and managed to acquire about 20 rounds of "hot" CorBon 10mm.

In my estimation recoil of high speed ammo is irrelevant. Rather, the KIND of recoil is what needs to be considered. I cannot speak to .357 magnum, but hot 10mm has a powerful push to it which doesn't disturb my shooting unless I flub the basics; and no ammo can prevent the shooter from leaning on the shot. By comparison, I found the snappy recoil of .40 S&W to be just ruinous for rapid shot acquisition. I'd rather shoot 100 rounds of 1250 FPS 10mm then 10 rounds of .40 S&W for that reason.

I can (and occasionally have) just as easily yank a shot with cheap .38sp as with a hot-rodded .357 load. My question is, because I know little about ballistics, is; Is there a point at which you are pushing the projectile too fast and accuracy suffers?

I use their lead free 357 SIG load for hunting. The velocity stated on the box is either at or below what you'll actually get. They test their loads with the same pistols they mean for it to be used in. Best round on the market IMHO.
