Excellent choice. My next handgun purchase as well.

Thanks for the B-day wishes guys!

Dont worry, I didnt forget about the beer. At 12:01 on my b-day a bunch of my buds and I hit the bars. It was a good time, and worked out well cause that gave me some time the next day to handle the glock purchase! Gotta love it.

I do plan on getting a 1911 in the future (thinkin about a Springfield A1 Loaded), but thought a glock would be a great place to start. I would rather get proficient shooting a 9mm then move to 45 later. Plus a 1911 is really gonna break the bank, they are far from cheap! Yikes!

      Anyways, thanks again guys!

      Cheers!

        Update!

Well, yesterday evening I headed to Irvington Arms to pick up my 19. Hit up Reeds Indoor range before they closed and put 100 rounds through her. I must say, I love it! Fits my hand great and feels awesome to shoot. Im no professional, but was shooting pretty well at about 15 yards. It was everything I was hoping for and more. Cant wait to get back out there and break her in some more. Anyhoo, just thought id give a little update!

        Happy Shootin

Congrats on the purchase. Now pickup a holster and more mags and shoot Chabot's Tactical Handgun. You'll never want to shoot from an indoor lane again after shooting action shooting.

I had my 21st birthday in a bar that I had been frequenting for a couple years.
I started my DROS on a Glock 21 about 13 days before I was 21 so I would be 21 before my pickup day.
This was back when the waiting period was still two weeks.

The DROS got declined and when questioned why, the DOJ said I had to be 21 to START the DROS, not just to pickup the gun.

                Heh, you gotta try...

You know, I was actually thinkin of doin that sometime down the line. I wanted to become more proficient before I go out and do action shooting, just so I dont end up embarassing myself too bad! I have the mags covered, still need the holster though. I think that would be great fun, and an awesome way to learn how to shoot better! Maybe ill try that when I have more time this summer.

Yeah, Chabot has them once a month so whenever you're ready just come on down.

Yep my first pistol was a Glock 23 for the same reasons you stated (although mine came with 13rd-ers, hehehehe).

Welcome to the start of a major expense in your life (besides women)....

Speaking of the ladies, I do recommend you get your girlfriend shooting asap as if she likes shooting, then it makes it a lot easer to bring home your next 4 or 5 dozen purchases...
