No way! When I get a new handgun I accessorize it to the max. Holsters, magazines, aftermarket sights, trigger job, cerakote, Mfg Logo Polo Shirts, etc.

Actual shooting is too dirty and loud for my tastes.

Tripp Research magazines are the most significant improvements in 1911 magazines since the pistol was introduced. Strong words, but these magazines have so many improvements over any other that the list is really too long for inclusion here.

Most significant is the positioning of the cartridge .080 higher than any other magazine. This puts the cartridge in almost a direct line with the chamber. The follower is reinforced with stainless steel at the slide stop interface to prevent failure. The eight-round magazines are designed from the outset as such, and are not converted seven-round magazines like most others. The feed lips have also been modified for enhanced reliability. The list goes on, but the message is clear—if your life depends on your M1911, regardless of manufacturer, have a Cobramag up the magazine well and a couple of more in reserve.

I have an MC Operator. The only thing I changed was the grips. I put VZ Frag grips. Other tan that, it runs smoothly. I've put 300 rounds through it. I use Tripp Cobra magazines. No issues.

Another option is the Tripp upgrade kits. One of my factory mags that came with my TRP would not feed the last round. I tried manually stripping the rounds, cycling the gun and flat out shooting it. The round would just hang up in the mag, causing a failure to feed. A quick phone call to Springfield had a new mag inbound, but I decided to order a few upgrade kits when ordering a mag from Tripp. I figured with the cost, what was the harm? The bum mag now works great and I have replaced the guts on all my factory mags with them. Note that they will change an 8rd mag to a 7 rd mag
