    UPDATE!!! Do I really need a S&W 29?

So after sleeping on it, I decided to go to Turners this morning. Just to see what they had. And there she was. A S&W M29-10. Blued 6 1/2" barrel. It was the performance model, complete with wooden display case. She was calling my name. Now I know I said I wanted a nickel plated, but after careful thought, I liked the blued better. It's more Dirty Harry. So after completing the HSC, again, I am now the proud new, after 10 stupid days, owner of a new baby. I can't freakin wait!!!

So for as long as I can remember, the S&W 29 has been my dream gun. I'm trying to save as much money as I can right now for a down payment on a house. But, after going to H&R block this year, I've gotten a killer return. So do I splurge and get something I've always wanted? Or do I keep my "nose to the grindstone" and perhaps one day get something nice for myself. I mean, a house would be awesome, but come on now, it's a freakin' S&W. What to do....

I'm a 27/57 guy myself, but I really like the "New Classic" 29's (if you're buying new). Gotta go with the blue though.

Yeah. Gonna buy new. But it's definitely gonna be a nickel plated 6".

You do need a 29. When you get it is up to you.
Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

You need that like I need the 460 Rowland conversion for my glock

              Post a picture or two.

Or save a search on gunbroker for a CA seller. Pick up one of the sweet pre lock non fluted calendar versions
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

Same here. I got my first M29 in 1983 for passing probation. (that is what I told my ex-wife) Anyways many more N frame revolvers will come home with you. BTW that first one was four inch blue.

If you need to ask, the answer is YES.

                        Go ahead, make your day!

Save the money for a IRS rainy day - the only time I had H&R do my taxes I got audited.

                            Go get in, man... NOW!

Seriously though, if it's going to prevent you from getting a house, then don't. I hope that's not the case but just a slight delay... You gotta do something for yourself from time to time (and time and time again).

Good luck OP! I hope you find one.

They've been doing my taxes for awhile now and I've been pretty lucky so far. This time I had a guy who helped me amend my taxes for the past three years. (Driving expenses for work). So I'm expecting a pretty nice return. And now I feel as though I should splurge an get myself something nice.
