      Here is an example of another 1968 Mfg Colt A1, if you notice...I think the same guy inspected both guns. Looks legit to me and congratulations!
      I hope you have a son that you can pass that down to one day. I just picked up another Colt the other day and currently in my 10 day waiting period... i'll post pics when its mine.

            congrats. you have a very nice find and great pick-up. i don't know what the true value of the Colt is, but based on your pictures/description, i would pay at least as much as the price you are getting it for... without hesitation.

                Off topic but for those Colt lovers in the San Diego area, Project 2000 range\gunshop in El Cajon has a Colt 1911 on consignment for $1200.

                It has papers from CMP authenticating it's manufacture in 1940's.

                She's a beaut and I would have purchased it if the IRS just didn't bleed me for 11k.
