      No, changing out the barrel is enough to make it legal.

      What my picture was referencing is that it is not illegal to have threads, it is illegal to have them on your barrel. You could have threads on your slide and put a muzzle brake coming out of your slide at a 90 degree angle to the barrel. It doesn't matter. It's when the barrel itself is threaded that it becomes a problem.
