Best upgrade at this point is to shoot it. Break it in. Figure out what deficiencies the gun has for YOU, decide what design changes you would make to that part, then look for a production part that matches those design changes.

I was told by an instructor to be careful of trigger upgrades for any handguns used for CCW. Apparently, if you are in a shooting, a DA or attorney in a civil matter can contend that you improved the trigger because you were looking to shoot someone. I don't know how sound this logic is, but something to consider and check out before hand. Sights and extended magazine releases are okay, since they do not enhance the performance of the gun.

doesn't need upgrades. just shoot it. New gun owners seem to want to treat their guns like their Honda civic or their Barbies and immediately want to play dress up. Unnecessary.

Anyone find it necessary to also purchase a sight pusher? Not meaning to thread jack, btw, just a newish Glock user as well.

for a CCW, I think I'd leave it pretty much stock on the inside.

On the outside, I'd go with a fixed low profile sight like the Warren or Novak ones. I'd also get some grip work done to make it fit my hand better.

For a carry gun, I would personally only change the sights. Nothing internal.

For a range gun, go all out if you want and drop internal "upgrades" if you want.

                  Just my 2 cents.

Leave it stock. Leave it stock. Leave-It-Stock.

Glock didn't belcome LEs favorite pistol because it had an after market whorlygig embedded in or attached to it. I know some of our friends are making a few bucks selling non standard replacement parts for Glock Pistols, but here is how I see it:

For every 1 Glock Pistol molested in the name of, 'Sport', or, 'Shooter Performance improvement', there are 5 to 10 unmolested Glocks in the hands of private owners and LEOs that shoot better with identical stock models, despite the fact that these formerly mentioned shooters are not shooting enthusiasts. In the end it's your gun. Have fun. Shoot fast and don't miss.

Replace the plastic sights with the metal.

Leave it alone. Except for the sights Glocks are perfect. I would also add a flashlight. Get replacement parts that are known to wear and you should be good to go. Happy Glockin.

BTW no need to break in. You're the one that needs to get broken in and accustomed to it and not the other way around.
