Starting to hate adding mods to my glock

Bought a glock 19 recently. Decided to do some mods to it. Ghost rocket trigger kit definitely not worth it, ended up putting the stock parts back in. Rear sights, warren tacticals, were a big hassle. Finally got them in after struggling with them for an evening with a few files and some punches.

All excited because I went down to Home Depot and bought the nut driver to install the 3/16" retaining nut for the front sight today. Got it home the walls of the nut driver are too thick to fit into the nook where the head of the retaining nut resides.

At least the extended mag release and slide stop were no hassle to install and I like em.

glock mods are fannnnntaassstic.. cool part is that if you dont like it.. it's super simple to swap it all out for original parts..

simplicity is nice, but I always mod a few things on my glocks just to make them more usable for me..sights, triggers.. the extra controls like slide and mag release are whatevers.. i can live without them..just inconvenient if tehy're "x" instead of "y"

i mainly use my glock for competition, so it's fairly modded.. i have a friend who has a G17 thats bone stock.. they're both nuts accurate if you're capable.. it's just that my modded glock makes it that much easier to get rounds on target, faster..

I can't seem to add a Glock to my safe no matter how much I want to like Glock.

They're outstanding pistols: reliable, extremely size efficient, and relatively inexpensive. For easily under $2000 OTD, three models (34, 19, 26) will fulfill ALL my handgun needs for the rest of my life.

But when I pick one up and shoot it, I don't feel anything for 'em. It's about as interesting as putting on a pair of socks in the morning. No pride of ownership, no mechanical intrigue, no drool factor.

I have no doubts that they work, and work extremely well. But for me, Glocks are about as exciting as nail clippers. One day, I'm going to lock up my SIGs, and force myself to shoot Glocks exclusively for at least one year. Maybe then, my mind will change.

Install the nutdriver in a power drill.
Spin the nutdriver against a bench grinder.
You will be able to OD grind the nutdriver to fit.
I did one like this years ago and I still use it to this day.

You will also want to make the socket MUCH shallower so that the screw does not slide down in the socket while you are starting it into the front sight.
