    Froglube?

Folks been telling me to try Froglube. Actually, they swear it's the best CLP they have ever used.

I have been using M-Pro7 cleaner & gun oil for all my guns. Tried Rem Oil too.

To more experienced folks.. Is Froglube really that good?

If you lather up your slide or bcg with it, it starts to coagulate and gums up. I actually stopped using it to be honest. Maybe im doing something wrong?

No offense but it sounds like you are.

You're supposed to wipe off the excess so it looks like "none" remains, kind of like the way Rain-x works.

I've used it on all 5 off of my pistols, and it's worked better than what I used before.

I was a huge proponent of Froglube and used it enough to have 3 bottles of the stuff (range bags and home cleaning kits). My biggest problem was the inconsistency between each bottle that I had. The first bottle is what I considered normal. The second bottle I got was lighter in color and had white flecks the size of sugar floating in it. On a hunch I stuck it in the microwave and the flecks melted. The 3rd bottle I got was somewhere in between the first two.

Once I tried Slip and all the different viscosities and even grease I simply stopped using the Froglube. Never had any problems with it though.

+1 on frog lube. Makes your gun slick.

Froglube burned off too quick on my CZ and AR. I have since switched to FireClean and haven't looked back.

Is FireClean also a non-toxic lube?

                thanks

I started using FL with my first pistol and have used it on all of the rest. I recently purchased a Springfield TRP (first 1911) and I was having a battle if I should use it or one of the more widely accepted petroleum or synthetic solutions. Long story short is that I did a full strip on it and FL'ed it just like my other handguns.

To be honest, it may not be the best lube, it may not be the best cleaner, and it may not be the best at preventing rust but in my opinion if you want to use one product to do everything for any one gun I think it is the best for that. Really the best part is wiping down your gun after a trip to the range, all the carbon and any other dirt or grime simply wipes right off. After cleaning I through a little of the paste on the high wear areas (barrel and rails) and call it a day.

If I was going to buy again I would only buy the paste, with a little heat it becomes liquid so IMO the liquid is unnecessary. Apparently the solid version is its natural state and that is probably why the liquid is a little more inconsistent. I did a lot of research before deciding to use it and it was very hard to find anyone saying anything bad about it if they actually used it, usually you get a bunch of people who have been using the same products for 20 years and swear that there could not be anything better. Being able to clean in the house without stinking it up and pissing off the GF is also nice.

I bought some last week and put it on my Sig 1911 and brand-new, never fired, M&P9c. Taking them to the range on Monday.

I don't know if it is truly the wonderproduct many claim it to be, but after racking the slide a few times on my 1911 it felt a lot slicker than it did with the Rem-oil that I used to use, without feeling greasy.

As long as it doesn't perform worse than the petroleum products out there, I will continue to use it because of the fact that it is biodegradable and has a pleasant smell.

                        Thanx for the responses, CGN!!!

I asked my cousin what he uses (serving in the Army, Joint Base Lewis-McChord) & he said he uses Mili-Tech. I mean... another product I need advice on.

I love the stuff. I haven't had any problems with it. Put 800+ rounds downrange on my AR and no issues at all with burn off.

As an added side bonus, I don't get a headache after cleaning my guns anymore. I haven't found anything that works as well for my uses. YMMV.

As far as CLP, yes, it's that good. M-Pro 7 is phenominal as well.
