        Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

          Not sure what that means...

I was at an understanding that removing the recoil spring plug was the first thing to do when starting the field strip...

Many of us old 1911 hands just make sure the pistol is unloaded, drop the magazine and then retract the slide to the takedown notch, pop the slide stop out and cup our left hand under the recoil spring and spring guide to capture it as we move the slide off the frame. Then we disassemble from there. Its actually easier to disassemble that way imho.

Alchemy Custom actually did a video utilizing the same method I've used for years. They did it on a Les Baer pistol since they're well known to be very tightly fitted. Alchemy Custom also makes a very nice bushing wrench/tool for those that like to do it the old way or to reassemble the old way: http://1911doctor.com/ACW_1911_Takedown_Tool.php.

"You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."
"What we get away with isn't usually the same as what's good for us"
"An extended slide stop is the second most useless part you can put on a 1911"

"While Ruger DA revolvers may be built like a tank, they have the aesthetics of one also,
although I suppose there are a few tanks which I owe an apology to for that remark"

I did another try disassembling my 1911 and found out that I was notch for the slide release too far back. Popped up with light pressure once I remember where to stop the slide.

The video is very informative to me. Not sure if will fully work for the Raptor, as it has a full guide rod. But it does look like a perfect way for disassembly for my MC Operator...

Thanx again for all the help CGN!!!

So it is indeed the notch... You're welcome! Now be careful putting it back. You got a beauty there.

I was more nervous not putting an idiot scratch on the Raptor than taking my last exams back in Berkeley many years ago.

I'm a bit schzio about damaging my guns. I take them shooting as often as I can, but I'm extremely paranoid about severe scratching, etc.
