Glock 21 vs CZ 97B

Cool, I needed the reality check.

I'll need to throw in some cash, or maybe just buy a new CZ. Sounds like my dad wants my glock... (that sounds dirty)

It wont hurt to try. Post in the WTS/WTB forum. Worst that will happen is you don't get any responses.

I have a 97b, I replaced the walnut grips with the standard rubber ones from cz, the gun feels a lot thinner, grip feels great. I had a glock 20 which is the same size as the 21 and I think the 97b is truly way better when it comes ergonomics and overall feel. Accuracy is superb, I have let every one of my friends that a 1911 shoot it along side theirs and they always get better groups with my 97b. This is the kind of gun you will never think about letting go.

Imo all Glocks just look or seem like cookie cutter pistols, they're blehhhh to me. Whereas a CZ, they're just appealing in every aspect, it's hard to explain haha

OP, where are you located? Firing Line in Burbank rents a CZ 97B. If you can swing by to rent it, that will be the best.

I own a G21 SF and rented a CZ 97B. I shot better with the CZ and prefer it over my Glock. Maybe it's because of the ergonomics? Maybe the weight? Most likely the trigger.

I had a chance to acquire one but the timing wasn't right. I was hoping the seller could wait 2 weeks but he wanted to unload quickly. Then, I couldn't find one anymore. It is hard to find. Oh well.

I have both, keep the glock on my plate carrier. Love the CZ. The CZ is about the same 1911, the grips are a bit thicker. I have a couple 1911's too. The CZ is a tack driver, but is heavy.

I have a G21, put 1500 rds through her, and I just am not in love with the gun. I truly hate the factory sights on it, and I tend to shoot better with 3 dot sights. I have pretty big paws, so the size of the g21 wasnt an issue.

I just picked up a CZ75B in .40, and I really dig it. I also like the DA/SA abilty of the CZ, and the trigger is sweet in SA. I need to find a CZ 97B to try, and I was wondering your collective thoughts on the 2 pistols.
Metal vs plastic, relatively same price used....

Maybe I'm just too darned practical and left-brained, but one thing that was not mentioned by anyone was:

Can you get parts?

Are mags available?

Ask these questions for any weapons platform.

I got both Glocks & CZ's, but I have a G21SF @ my bedside.

The CZ is nice. However, if I were going to have ONLY one......the Glock hands down. Support with parts aavailability is often overlooked by people. I can walk into just about any store and find a Glock mag. Good luck finding them for the CZ, as well as other parts and holsters. That CZ has a lot of unused space on the dust cover.....no reason that it should not have a rail. I don't care if the CZ is 1/2" more mechanically accurate, the modularity and reliability of the Glock platform makes up for that. I would like to have both guns though.

So you're speaking from a cosmetics standpoint. Ever looked INSIDE a CZ? Are they just as appealing on the inside? Just saying. Yes, Glocks are cookie cutter, exactly why you have at least 5 different choices for any part on the gun........ mix and match, and they're still gonna work.

Like with any manufacturer, supply and demand is always present. I'm sure there are far more glock owners than there are CZ owners so parts and accessories are more available. I think CZ owners appreciate the gun for its workmanship and accuracy where as some Glock owners appreciate the name.

I own 4 CZ's and a Glock and in my experience neither pistol has failed me.

Ya, Glock mags come and go.. there are always places on the display walls for them. Yes, I do see CZ 75 mags sometimes... but have never seen a 97B mag in a shop around me.
