EDIT: OK that was a joke, but... I never knew that area was Campbell, just thought it was called South San Jose. Hrmm....Last edited by rivviepop; 04-12-2008, 8:34 AM. -
It's a 65-3, somewhere in the 1982-1988 time frame and "very clean" (as we talked on the phone). Sorry guys, it's been put in the back for me and I'm rerouting my day to make the 50mi drive to go DROS it. (well, I think I am - personal inspection pending)
Hey, it's a great day for a bike ride anyways. I love the smell of new-to-me guns in the morning...Comment

Believe it or not, only my second 3" gun - I tend to like the 4" better because I actually shoot things, the short guys can be a little brutal with the .38 +P+ I like to feed 'em. But, well, there's something just ultimately pleasing about a 3" once you get it in your hand that I'm finding out.
Obligatory picture - a nice bantam-ish grip of some sort on this and she'll be a wonderful little shooter, can't wait. (those banana grips have got to go) Everything was spot on, another "carried but not shot" revolver in the world, the previous owner took good care of her. (sadly, no box/papers - I'll live) The only downside is that this is one of the models with a free floating hammer nose, no hammer nose spring to have it rebound - I may get it to a smith and have one of those installed, the free floaters tend to chip away at the frame a little (my shooter 66-1 has this problem).
Price was a tad steep, but well - that's consignment for ya, shop needs to make it's 20%. But I have to say this shop is a no-nonsense bunch of guys who knew their stuff, there were a ton of people in and out during my visit and for as tiny as that place is, they had some 4 or 5 people working the crowd and keeping things moving. The fella Al who had put the gun aside for me and did the DROS paperwork made it painless and easy, I got to shop around and pick up a few odds and ends at decent prices while he took care of all that stuff.
If I were local I'd be a patron here, I had a really good experience and enjoyed my trip.Comment

Only had a chance to run 24 rounds through it at the Utah CCW class, but those 24 were a pleasure to shoot. I picked it up that morning and quickly threw a bantam grip on it, I actually kinda like it this way and am gonna leave it for the time being. Required picture:

Hey Rivvie, was it Jay you talked to at Sportsman's? He's the older guy behind the counter and knows his stuff. He's given me the heads up on stuff in the past and has an old biz card of mine on file./Chris
