    ***M&P CORE*** CA Compliant?

So I've searched CGN, but haven't found any firm info. Is the newest and baddest M&P, the CORE edition, CA legal and on the roster?

I don't have high hopes, but it seems that it would be simple enough for Smith & Wesson to put the magazine disconnect on it, plus it already has a loaded chamber indicator.

If not, are there any shops in the lower half of CA that can SSE the M&P CORE? I specifically want the M&P40L Pro C.O.R.E. model.

Thanks for your help, vendors and Calgunners!

It is not on the Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale.

Therefore, you will need to acquire it via an exempt method (such as SSE).

Damn, that's what I thought. Thanks.

Does anyone know of any shops currently doing a SSE for the M&P 40L CORE?

Table rock arms in Oregon can probably convert it for you then ship,it to your local FFL for SSE transfer.

Unless you really want to mount the optic on the gun, you might be ahead of the game in terms of costs to buy a standard M&P then have modifications done to get you what you want. I'm not sure, but I believe that S&W custom shop used to do mod package on a standard M&P that got you very close to what is now the CORE.

Alternatively, you could get a standard M&P and send it off to AETI or L&M.

Everything I say is probably wrong.

+1, apparently the CORE has a 30 MOA shift when mounting an RMR.

ATEi is the way to go.

A standard gun with just an apex sear is supposed to have a better feel.

S&W should just put Apex on the payroll already.

I agree with the apex guts inside all m&p.

FYI OC Armory in Laguna Hills will do SSE for Pro/Core models 4.25/5' models

EBR Works in Newbury Park will do the SSE too, great people there! (http://www.ebrwebstore.com/)...the problem is finding a CORE in stock!

I agree with another poster...I just got my M&P 40 full size and I'm thinking of having the S&W Custom Shop or a well-known M&P guy give it the "Pro" treatment.

I was so happy to find some mags for it today, too...why are S&W mags so damn hard to find???

There was a M&P40L on Gunbroken.com last night for only 599.99 no cc fees free shipping as well and I didn't buy it still kicking myself for that..

So you guys are saying the RMR sights having problems with the core series?
