    thinking about a Glock

lately I've been contemplating on getting either a Glock 17 or 19. I know I know, I've made fun of the "Block" for years and swore I would never get one but I'm finally breaking down. I've had other plastic guns in the past XD, Styer, PX4, P97 but ended up selling them for one reason or another.

So the magic question is which one should I get? the 17 or 19?

Both of those Glocks are good choices. Do you like full-size or a compact gun? I had the Glock 19 and Glock 23 and feel that's the perfect size gun for me.

If you plan on carrying, either here in Cal or other states, then I'd probably go with the Glock 19 for better concealment. Though the 17 isn't that much bigger...just a matter of personal preference.

Go for the glock 17. Its the original glock. Out of all the glocks I own, the 17 is still my home defense pistol and my favorite handgun that I own.

+1 on the Glock 17, go with the original tried and true model...

Glock 17. I think it is the perfect firearm. It has no issue and is intuitive to shoot. The 19 has slightly less room between the trigger guard and the grip so it tends to rub on the knuckle of your middle finger. If you have thin finger it may not bother you.

            G17 it's hard to beat 18+1
I am glad to hear your been true to your self, allot of guys hate Glock but for no real good reason, yes it's not a competition type target gun, it's was designed for one reason and that is to work in the worse conditions, it's the AK of handguns

G17. It's easier to shoot and grips better for me. I don't see any reason for a g19 if you don't intend to carry it. Both great guns but the G17 is more desirable. I use to own a G19 and regretfully sold it years ago. I just recently bought a Glock but it was a G17 not G19.

This doesn't really help you with your selection, but I picked up a G21 a couple months ago on a whim and ended up hating it as much as I thought I would...at first. I figured out that what I hated was not the feel of the gun or the trigger, but those cheezball factory sites. I installed some Trijicons, which I'm used to, and voila, it's a real gun. It did take awhile to get used to the trigger reset, but once I got that down, I began shooting it very accurately. I'm actually enjoying shooting, and it is now my primary HD gun.

This is tough for me to answer.

If you want the 9mm...get the G17 for general range use, HD, etc or the G19 if you want it for carry. I like them both very much.

The G21 is my favorite and I shoot it the best out of all of them, even bone stock with the factory plastic sights. I actually like the factory sights because they are very easy for me to pick up. I just recently discovered this after swaping the sights out on a few of them as soon as I would get them.

If you plan on getting a Glock, learn how to use the trigger reset (if you don't already). The reset is short and the 5.5lb connector is very crisp. A lot of people who buy/ shoot Glocks do not use the trigger reset, then complain about the trigger.

                      My .02 cents.

Bullseye competition probably not but they are very competitive in IDPA and USPSA/ IPSC.

go hold them both and shoot them both if you can.
I perfer the G19 over the 17 weight and feel of it.
both good guns but i'd go with the 19

i hated on the glock. i love usps.

i have a glock 17, i got it originally because it's so common. i do like the ergonomics, low bore axis and position of barrel.

i love my usps, but i was delightfully surprised after being dissatisfied with all the times i rented glocks.

See which fits your hand better. The grip feel is different on the Gen 3 17 and 19.
