SSE on a Wilson Spec Ops 9

I know this is a long shot, but is anyone here aware of an FFL that can SSE a WC SO-9? I am looking at possibly buying one from an FFL that is out of State and I cannot find any info online or on here if there is someone that can SSE it.

    Any help is appreciated!

Any shop who can SSE a 1911 should be able to handle it for you...

    How about DAS?

Sure. OC ARMORY in Orange County. Talk to Mike.

Ditto!!! Call Mike at OC armory. I have done plenty of 1911's there.

Wilson Combat will no longer ship non rostered guns to California. Like OP said, he needs to find an out of state FFL to handle it for him there then transfer it to an instate FFL that will accept SSEs.

Good luck OP, it'll definitely be a rewarding 1911 to own after its all said and done!

OP, your post is not very clear. Have you already identified an out of state FFL that has one to sell you? If so, they should be able to ship it to OC Armory for the SSE modification and DROS. WC will no longer ship to CA if off roster but I don't think they are stopping FFL's from doing so.

If you are looking for an out of state FFL to order one for you (which is more likely since they are usually special order), I would call Table Rock Arms in OR. Ryan should be able to order one and also do the SSE if you'd like.

I have already found an FFL that has one in stock and willing to sell me, however I was unclear if the SSE was an issue since the Spec Ops is a 9mm vs a 45acp. I know to SSE a 1911 in 45acp should not be difficult, however with it being 9mm I was not sure if that makes it more difficult or not?

Thank you guys for all the replies! That's why I love this place

Congrats, nice find! Your a lucky man.

I'm up north and have never used OC Armory but it sounds like Bob says they are good to go for the 9mm. I would think they have both 45 and 9mm barrels for their SSE offering.

Good luck. Post up some pics of that beauty once you take possession of it so we can all drool a bit.

Most shops will just use their 45acp SSE barrel...if they wanted they could also just swap the entire top end to a 45acp SSE setup.

I have never seen a 1911 SSE shop that would not SSE any caliber or barrel type...

Ha, I didn't even think about swapping the slide. Makes complete sense...I feel really stupid now :/

I would be curious if a 45acp SSE barrel would fit then in the event swapping a slide didn't work. I can't see there being an FFL that has a custom WC 9mm barrel laying around to do 1 to 2 SSE conversions per year

This is actually a trade I am doing for an FN FiveSeven I have listed in the Classified section, so its not exactly something I was looking for an decided to purchase.

I am not sure you can go wrong with a Wilson, can you?

Not the Spec Ops. The barrel is closer to a Glock then any 1911 I've ever seen. We transferred a couple of those at Valkyrie and we had to use the barrel sleeves. There's really nothing in common with the Spec ops and anything else.
