Just a heads-up: I saw a heavily used CZ-75B for sale for $349.99 at my LGS, Cordelia Gun Exchange out in the Fairfield area. I was tempted to scoop it up as trade bait, given how apparently difficult they are to find (judging from board chatter), but I've got think about bills for March.

I say stick with the 9 because of issues of frame wear and slide stops is *more common* (rear more common, not consistent) with .40 models. Granted this was more of an issue with older models.

I can attest to the 40 SAO is my favorite handgun, and fields, I'm still not %100 on the frame cracks. I get that it was designed for 9mm, and done some minor research, and haven't heard about cracks for a long while.
But still zfields know more than I do

That's all I found new right now. I have other pistols in mind but kinda want a different style since most of my handguns are striker fire ploymer guns. Prices on everything are through the roof. One thing I hear is there is a lot of aftermarket stuff for them.

I would buy used but even a good used guns people are asking the same for a new one.

I bought a used CZ75B in .40 from a fellow calgunner in 2011. I originally looked for a 9mm but they were few and far between, even back then. The pistol has been flawless. It has fed and ejected all factory rounds I have tried and all reloads. It has been able to feed my semi wadcutter reloads easily unlike my other .40 caliber. Several thousand rounds have been fired.

I originally thought that 9mm ammo would be easier to find due to it's popularity, this was the popular opinion prior to this current madness. Based on my observations the SHTF scenario affected the popular chamberings, .223, 9mm and .308. It seems there is more availability of 7.62x39, .40 , .45 and 30.06 and 7mm 08 etc. on the shelves. The crisis usually hits where it is not expected. Another plus in .40 caliber is that mag kits were available recently from .44mag.

Either in 9mm or .40 you will get a good reliable pistol.

I went in there yesterday to buy a 1911 and a barrel for my AR build and noticed that CZ there. It looks pretty beat up, like it was dragged on the ground a lot. Triple A's Sporting Goods in Vallejo has a few cz75's there as of yesterday. A little bit of a mark up on those though

349? As long as it function tested good, I'd scoop it up in a heart beat. I shoot my guns though, so some nicks don't bother me at all.

I didn't take it out of the case because I've already got one but every edge on that gun was worn down past the finish, it had literally looked like someone tied a string to it and dragged it behind a car. Few dings I admit aren't bad, but it looked pretty beat up so I would be concerned about how the previous owner treated it. I guess it would be a good "fixer" gun for someone that didn't mind getting some work done to it but it would be too much work for me!
