wait for the prices to come back down, even if you did get on 9mm ammo is hard to find at a decent price.

Glad I bought my G19 4 months before the panic.

9mm is soo hard to find at the moment! I would wait, patience is a virtue.

Don't give up. Search the private sales here and you'll find one eventually. I did.

I picked up a 17 last weekend from a fellow Calgunner. Saw another one for sale last night for $500. Be persistent.

Come to think of it... pretty sure you could buy a .40 and pickup a 9m barrel and magazines later. I've seen Glock .40's in stock at several stores.

Probably about the same as a new one, to be honest.

Not the best investment. If he bought a Colt Python, then we're talking.

You just gotta know where to look. I picked up a Glock 27 with night sights at a pawn shop last week. I felt like it was the last one in Fresno, so tough to find.

I know how you feel I am looking for a gen4 G26. I will most likely wait for places to start stalking again, and I may have my GSSF coupon by then. I signed up for their life membership a little over a week ago, at the same time I upgraded my NRA membership to life.

I got my glock 19 gen 3 in November before all the panic. Mine also happens to be one of the now illegal usa gen 3s. Just keep waiting. I find that at least half the pleasure in purchasing firearms is the anticipation.

thanks for all the advice and tips. yes, patience is a virtue.

now that i joined oak tree, i can rent their glocks for free, it lessens the need, or i should say, want of owning a glock. don't get me wrong, i definitely want one, but i want a new one (no pawn shops, no GB) and i want to pay fair market for it so i will wait. i'm probably going to wait until the madness dies down and get a gen 4 and find a dealer to do the SSE. since i'm going to wait, i figure the least i can do is reward myself with the Gen 4

Take it easy, you'll come across one eventually. Make sure you get some ammo with it!

G 19 is my favorite of all my handguns. Were I in your boat I might not wait and would get one ASAP. Depending on the speed and nature of state and national legislation you might not be able to find one at all, or they may just get more expensive. I dont think they will get much cheaper. if they are banned and grandfatherd in I wouldnt be surprised to see them at a thousand or more.

We are an event driven culture and if there is a major incident with a glock then not only might you see a push for speedy legislative response, you might also see increased buying pressure from the public.

Trying to save a bit of money on firearms right now is a gamble. if you ever really need one, (as opposed to want one) how much it cost will be irrelevant.

I bought a second police trade-in G26 the day newton happened. With nightsights $460 it cost me. Finish wear but almost new inside. Controls still stiff but partially broken in. Now a few months later, rare as hens teeth, and un purchasable for any price.

If I didnt own all that I wanted i'd probably go to my local gun shop and give him a $50 bill in exchange for him calling me first if he got one in. They do show up from time to time because there are so many out there, they just dont sit on the display shelf for more than a few hours.

Maybe all this BS will blow over and you'll be able to buy them used for $380 (my best price for any of my Glocks) again, but my guess is we will see them at $1300 before $380 again. maybe you have some other handguns and just want instead of need one. but if not I just wouldn't nickle and dime about the cost at this point, you should have already bought 2, dozens of mags of all sizes and thousands of rounds of ammo. Dont compound the error by missing out now because you're a patient man.

Do you think the NY gun owners thought they would be field stripped of their rights in a flash like it happened? Well that happened there this is here, it cant happen here...Right?
