@sffred That's about $100 more than it should be for a GI... my Tac was purchased for $489 about 4 months ago (in Sac). I would hold out a few weeks and see if some of that new shipment floods the market a bit.

That being said I do understand Firerescue's point... if you don't own a pistol and you really want it don't let us tell you to wait to save $100.

a bit expensive for a RIA but better then no guns. If your buying to try it and sell it later, it's a horrible investment, but if your getting it because you want to keep it for life, it's fine. My 1911 is going to stay with me for life.

EA is right off the Main St exit for Manteca from 120, across from Walmart. They had several last time I was there.

I was in this shop last summer and they're very nice people. Its a small shop but very clean and also, its right across the street from a Walmart that sells ammo (when its in stock). Good luck.

Well here's some news for ya. This is quoted from the CEO of Armscor.

"Hi everyone!

A couple of things happened this past few weeks and I wanted to inform you guys.
Bad news which we fixed and good news that became great news.
1. It's election time in the PI. For those in the PI they will understand this part very well. For all the people in the rest of the world elections in the PI effect you as well.
During elections in the PI the government bans the carry and transportation of firearms. Armscor needs to file for its exemptions which we did before Jan 13. Not a single exemption was signed till last Friday. The system is fixed now. Guns are finally coming after 3 weeks of no shipping. Good news it's a lot of guns.

2. Great News for Filipinos. The Firearms bill is going to the president for his signature. This is the closest the PI will get to having firearms rights. We don't have the second amendment to protect us. I will continue the fight for gun rights to see what else we can do to provide the Filipino people with rights to protect their families and against tyrannical governments.
Congratulations to the Filipino people. Almost 3 years to get this bill through.
What this means for Americans who want my guns? Stability in my business. Which means quicker growth with confidence that my business won't be taken away by some chief of police or president.
Nothing better than stability in business.

I plan on keeping it for life. I don't currently have a 1911, my grandpa has been nice enough to let me try his out. I keep trying to get him to give me his but he says he will be buried with it. It his military issued side arm.
I'm just looking for something on the low end that I can enjoy and be able to shoot with out worry.

...If you buy something, you have to go in person to start the DROS paperwork, then come back in 10 days to pick it up.

You do not have to pick-up on the 10th day.
You have until 30 days after you submit the DROS in person to pick-up the gun. If the DOJ delays your approval, you may have longer. I am told that delays are very common right now and they can take up to a month too resolve.
If you are approved on time and you do not pick-up within 30 days, you will need too re-submit the DROS.
