Uggg... Those badge things! When I renewed my CCW this year in Fresno, they had a new form to fill out. You sign it promising you won't buy or use those lame badges. Thank heaven we have a Sherriff that prevents us from looking like a dumb ***.

Am I the only one who thinks Jodi on the DIY show "Danny Lipford Whatchacallit" is pretty hot? On other DIY shows she has done, her upper woman things seemed much smaller, she appears to have had them tuned up. I like her better with short hair tho.

Am I the only one who thinks this thread is a microcosm of all that's wrong with concealed carriers?

i get by in 99% of my life with a glock 26 on my permit. need to put my g20sf on my permit but now i kinda want 460 rowland! i have not contacted sacramento sheriff to see if they will let me list 1 gun in multiple calibers. if they will I'll probably buy a G21sf and swap slides back and forth, or get a G21 gen 4 and use a conversion 10mm barrel and 460 rowland barrel.

I don't know that I agree with this. After all, the point of having different guns is to accomplish different tasks. This may also mean that multiple calibers are needed for those tasks as well.

However, I'm not a fan of .380 - minimum defensive floor for me is 9mm or .38 special. Hand fit is important too, so make sure the gun fits your hand while firing. I've had some guns that fit my hand well enough to hold... but did not fit my hand well enough to control adequately under recoil.

                      My carry pieces are:
Ruger SR40c (my favorite and most used presently)
                      CZ 75b .40 Compact (my back-up ccw,)

and last but CERTAINLY not least

Ruger Redhawk .44 Magnum (deep woods trail gun)

Again, this last, not so much for miscreants as for big critters that do not just give up and go away, and don't know that they're supposed to give up and flop over dead just because you made a loud noise in their direction, but who only fall over when the CNS or blood supply gives out.

My wife's carry pieces are all 9mm because she likes the simplicity and it should be enough for 99% of the situations she finds herself in. I don't for one second think that 9mm is a "wimpy" caliber because with modern bullet design (Hornady Critical or equivalent) it will do it's job if you do yours, and the recoil is manageable for her. I like the .40 because I have more confidence in it, but if pressed, I'd have a hard time justifying that confidence based on any kind of ballistic testing.

I wonder if it is ok to swap uppers on a glock and just have two models listed.

The permit puts the model, then caliber, then serial #. there is room

                        So put Glock 20/21_____45/10____xxxxxxxx
                        or Glock 33/27/26_____357/40/9___xxxxxx

Attached is a photo of my carry "tool box" consisting of a Glock 21SF, Glock 30SF, and a Ruger LCP. Pretty much have all bases covered, I'd say.
