The Python. Why is it so desirable...?

I have been watching a thread go nuts over one of these for $925 tonight... It sold in 1 minute flat as they have been going for closer to $2,000 of late.

I have my reasons for liking the Python but I figured I would give everyone a stab at explaining their reasons for liking the Python. So, why in your experience/opinion/mind is the Python so desirable. I will also posit that I think a nice Smith and Wesson provides a better double action trigger pull for less money just to further provide a medium for commentary.

If I could edit the poll I would add "Because everyone else wants one." but it doesn't look like editing polls is possible.

To be, or not to be: that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
    And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep;

One of, if not the best triggers in the business.
    It's made by Colt
You can't buy them unless they are already in CA
Build quality is some of the best
    It's an old Colt
Oh yeah, it's an old Colt?!

Aesthetics, pop culture. (You know, the pistol that would take out anybody in one shot in Grand Theft Auto Vice City...)

                The blueing is gaawwwwwwgeous.
I like smiths ad rugers, but Sam Colt is the OG, so that alone creates a desirable mystique to the marque.

I mean, who needs to dive bomb when SHTF? That only happens in movies.

we never had the problems in CA till the whiteys took over. We used to hunt, fish, roam, then they showed up and wanted to be civilized.............Ruined it for everyone!

I have a few guns, but my colt trooper mkIII is my favorite. It is a beautiful piece of workmanship. Its not Dirty Harry's gun but close. I may sell my other ones, but never my colt.

                      Classic icon of wheel guns.

I'm a Smith fan, but the Python was a piece of history.

I knew a few guys that owned a "Smolt" revolver. It was a Smith & Wesson frame with a Python barrel installed. They were pretty cool.

Smoothest action of any pistol made.

Best looks of any pistol made.

                        Other than that, who knows.

They are badass... It blow zombies heads off in the original resident evil game... And the look on my uncles face when I was a kid around that time and I dropped his prized python barrel first on his welding table... A smith pre lock wouldn't have made his face that red.

I like it/want it because Rick uses one in Walking Dead. I know that's shallow, but hey...

I don't always save the world, but when I do, it's in 24 hours or less...

Because it kills zombies with one shot every single time.
