    Scoping out 45's

    Here are my criteria:
    1. No 1911
    2. No polymer
    3. Under $850

Is it still possible to get a quality firearm under those conditions?

    Revolvers fit your criteria.

Yup, an Uberti/Cimarron SAA in .45 Colt is a nice piece and would be under $700...
mine are .357s but they're right fine.
Prolly not what you had in mind though.

CZ 97 if you dont mind a large grip. I just about bought a 3rd one yesterday on gunbroker. It went for $520. Very good, quality gun.

              I stand corrected.

Now I'd like to add a CZ 97 to my collection.

              Eventually.

If I get down that way, I'd like to say hello.

Meanwhile, another reason I like that 97 (thanks for the reminding us of their existence!) is that I love my CZ 527 Carbine.

Glock 21, Springfield XDM, SW M&P, maybe a Sig, and a used HK USP.

                        ditto on cz 97.

I got mine for $500ish. The large grip is overstated, its not as big as the internet claims it to be. I have medium hands and it fits me perfect. The double action shot is long but single action is nice. Newer 97's have an improved feed ramp. I have boxes of hollow points I want to test.
