Eh... Picked up one used at the Norwalk Turners for $95 + fees and a couple ProMag mags 4 months ago.

I like shooting it, when it works. Lots of light strikes and jams of every sort. It's got to go back to Hi Point...

If you are comfortable with doing a little repair work, just ask them to send you a new set of springs. The recoil spring and firing pin spring should be changed every 2000-2500 rounds. They're easy to change and the factory will send them to you for free. It will save on shipping. Then if you still have problems, then send it home for a complete once over.

Also, since it is used, check out the hipoint forums first. If it is old enough, it might have the older firing pin configuration. If that's the case, you'll need to tell them as there will be a couple other parts to change as well (a very easy drop in process). Just look at the armorer's guide on the forums. The pictures in it will show you which version you have.

Thanks for all the great input, today I whent to talk to the guys at the Shootist in Murrieta. Essentially their opinion run the same as the opinions here you get what you pay for. I saw the videos - unbelievable. I have decided to go ahead and get one. It meets my requirements as a gun to just have fun with, I understand that at that price there cant be a resale market, but that is not the reason for buying it. Now I got to find how to buy it. Suggestions ?????

it's ugly, but from what i've seen, it ain't too bad. Here is a torture test on the hi point. I'd buy it just to have a backup or have a firearm that I could feel like I wouldn't have to take an extraordinary amount of care of.



Also, that youtube user has a lot of good things to say on his channel.

I have one. It's Ugly as sin. but works well and has a great warranty. If you're looking or an affordable 9mm just to mess around with it isn't a bad choice.

I didnt realize that Turners would carry it, I am going to start trolling for one, and it is like a second gun, I just don't want to put alot of wear and tear on my other 9mm.
Now comes the fun part shopping for one.

I have one and it's never givin me grief of any kind. I have the carbine also. Amazing warranty and customer service. Always goes bang when U pull the trigger. I prefer my P95 but this is also a great deal for the money. I say get it.

They work. They're heavy and clumsy but they're inexpensive and they work.

The company is great to deal with if you need something too.

The carbines are more interesting than the pistols.
