9mm high point firearms

I am looking to buy a 9 mm High Point pistol. Does anybody know anything about this pistol. I already have other guns, I am looking for something afordable to take to the range and shoot. Are they any good and does anybody know where they can be seen/purchased in the Los Angeles area

Not worth the money you'll pay for one.

At that price point a CZ82 would be a better buy IMHO

Or hell, $400 for a POSurp Glock?

Absolute trash. I dont recommend owning one much less pulling the trigger on a loaded chamber. When you are shooting a gun you initiate a "controlled explosion" in your hand. Dont go cheap!!!

I don't think they're a bad pistol for the money. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one if I was on a budget. For $140, nothin else really compares. You're going to be paying a lot more for any other 9mm.

I have one. It is ugly as he'll, but it puts a bullet where I aim it every time I pull the trigger.

Go watch some of the torture test videos on them. I have ZERO fear of one blowing up in my hand.

They are not bad for what they are, low end economy guns.

Personally, for a range gun I would get a P95 instead, more money but a less clunky gun. That said they are very reliable and if you needed a dirt cheap defensive gun it is a good option. if you have other guns and just want a 9mm though, hold out for something else.

I appreciate the comments - please keep them coming. "Cant buy anything here" I have no agenda, yesterday was the first time I saw the guns and the prices, sounded like something I could afford. From the comments, I am now getting excited that I now need to find a place where I can buy one (any suggestions for the los angeles, san diego or riverside area?)

I've owned one for about four years been a decent gun for what it is. Shoots federal fmj fine will not shoot steel case ammo at all. Take down isn't the easiest and resale value sucks. But it is durable as you can see on the torture test video. All in all though I like the gun and would reccomend it to anyone who's looking for a cheap range toy from an American gun maker.

I know a couple guys that own a hi point. they are American made and they have a lifetime warranty. Each of my friends swear by it and they never had issues. I almost picked one up but got a marlin 795 instead. I think if thats all you have in your budget buy one. cant go wrong and hell, its under 200 with a lifetime warranty. nothing much to complain about
