I'm talking about the barrels with an unknown heritage, usually with slots miiled in them. I've used Bar-Sto, Storm Lake, another couple of name brands, and they all worked well. Just be sure the guy at the table can really tell you where the barrel came from. The .40 S&W is a pretty high pressure round, and I sure don't want a defective barrel. The few Glock KB's I know of have all been in .40, firing slightly out of battery. That's why I suggested changing the recoil spring. I also know that changing to another brand of striker might also increase the chance of firing out of battery, or doubling - both are pretty exciting.

    all the best,

    Mike
There are some people that it's just not worth engaging.

It's a muzzle BRAKE, not a muzzle break. Or is your muzzle tired?

You need not get worked up... was solely a bit of humor, as I knew yours was, too. Was simply meant as good-natured ribbing.

I'm FAR from a Glock fanboy... I think they serve their purpose VERY well, as do the XD. I'm surprised by Odesskiy's experience...

I do not like the feel of the XD. The grip shape and my hand have issues. When I shoot thumbs forward with it the palm of my hand gets tender. I don't have this problem with my 1911s, HKs, Sigs, Glocks, etc. etc....
I now know it was humor, but with the vagaries of the internet, that is not always obvious; that's why I used a smilie. Thanks for the explanation.

I'm surprised you don't like the feel of the XD, realizing of course, everyone has a different hand. Maybe it's because of your ucla connection. Most of the people on xdtalk.com, of which I'm a member, say they like it because it does have the feel of a 1911, along with the grip safety. Those same people say the Glock doesn't feel comfortable to them.

I had no problem with the Glock grip, just the problems I mentioned and I never shot a full size Glock since I was looking for a ccw one only. One of these days I'll rent one and see how they are. As I said, I'll probably get one one of these days just to say I have one.

      Take care.
