    Concealed license

Quick thought I had this morning. I want to apply for a ccw here in Sonoma county. I will prob be denied. Does this effect my ability to get one in the future? Should the laws change I mean.

Unless you're very well connected in CA government, getting one in CA is virtually impossible. Good luck!

      Pretty easy to get,

if you live in a strong conservative county, or one with a reasonable Sheriff.

Not true Fritz, its a county by county sheriff's decision to issue or not. There are plenty of threads here on Calguns to verify this. In our household here in Tulare county we have two very new CCW permits and we are nowhere near connected to the local government.

I think they're difficult but possible to obtain. Otherwise I wouldn't bother. Sonoma is pretty strict but they are issued to civilians. I handle a lot of money and have access to money. I just want to know about getting turned down preventing me in the future.

Difficulty depends entirely on your local Sheriff. It ranges from almost impossible to almost guarantied.

Fresno and Mariposa Counties are, for all intents, shall issue. My Father in law just got his, piece of cake.

I live down here in Ventura County and I think perhaps 3% to 5% of applicants are granted an LTC.

LTC denial should not affect other applications within the state, unless there is a egregious enough offense of the applicant that warrants a indefinite denial. Also, I read awhile back that in one county that requires you to get denied by the County Sheriff first before you apply to the local Police department.

As far as current legislation goes, nothing yet that would affect the LTC process.

I beleive you have that backwards.

There are some counties where the city police chief has been delegated the authority to issue LTCs by the county Sheriff. In these cities, a resident must first attempt to get an LTC through the city process before they can apply at the county level.

That map is out of date, it lists Sacto as no issue.

OP check out the sunshine initiative forum. It may have info on what to put on your app in your county to get approved

                        Here ya go:

They have applications on there that have actually been approved for Good Cause.

I have one but our sheriff is an honorable man.

I don't know about Sonoma County.

But....Solano County is a May Issue county. If you're squeaky clean, have a reasonable reason, pay the money, do the class, you can get license to carry.
