    Holster for OWB.

I want to pick up a holster for my Glock 17, i have been looking at Blade-tech,G-Code,Fobus and Blackhawk. The only holsters i really like are the G-Code and Fobus, the G-Code Holsters are really expensive and the shipping is ridiculous, the Fobus seems the best bet at this point. Anybody have any experience with the Fobus holsters, specifically with the thumb breaks?
    Any opinions would help.

    Fobus SUCKS.

If you really want a holster with retention, stick with safariland IMO.

      Cheap crap.

Safariland is your best bet for a production OWB holster.

Oh, my choice for OWB holsters, Jim @ Tac tech Cal, who is a CGN member and vet.

Second pic for NON retention are the Safariland 5187 series holsters. Really liked the one I had for my CZ 75SA

Yup, blade tech. With their "belt clip" get to range click it on, then off when you leave. Dont need to thread it. Buy from midway or other. Straight from BT seems to take a few weeks

Stay away from Fobus or Blackhawk Serpa.

I like Comp-tac and OWB Kydex holster

A lot depends on what you intend to use the holster for.

If it's for competition, the Blade-Tech is hard to beat. If it's for general carry, I've carried on- and off-duty in Blackhawk, Safariland, Bianchi, and a couple of other brands that I can't put a name to at this second. Unlike a poster above, I don't have any problem with the Serpa holsters as long as you practice. Same goes for any holster, though.

If it's for concealment, I'm using a White Dog holster to carry a Glock 19 - it works well, not quite as pricey as some, and the owner/maker is pretty responsive to requests. Looks like he's backlogged, though.

One thing is for sure... the Fobus is a cheap holster and you get what you pay for. There's a video on YouTube somewhere from a defense class in which a Fobus holster is ripped right off the belt, pistol and all.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

Even better, a good chunk of them come pre-broken for your convince!

The only benefit of owning a Glock is Raven Concealment Systems seems to always have Glock holsters on quick ship. Do yourself a favor and look into getting one from RCS. While the rest of the world waits 4 - 4.5 months for their holster, you can get yours within 7-14 days.
