The Collection Grows!

I finally had a chance to take some pics of my Model 19-4. I picked it up Saturday. I bought it from a local shop, out the door for $500. Other than some holster wear at the muzzle and a couple of small nicks, she's pretty cherry:


I also picked up a Colt Detective that I bought from another Calgunner last week. It has some surface blemishing(only one small spot where there's pitting actually into the surface), but I think I'll have it re-blued to take care of it. It's a cute little thing:


Next up, a Ruger Speed Six from Bullseye! I've got to get out there to start the DROS.

I especially like your Detective Special - maybe there will be a resurgence of .38 wheelguns and snubbies! Sometimes I get tired of autos - even 1911s!

Yeah, those Detective Specials are in hot demand, huh? I just got a call today from a fella I know giving me the heads up on something, and he's also looking for one of those DSes. It must be in the air...

I have a strange affinity for the snubbies. My goal is to acquire one or more from each of the American big three(S&W, Colt, Ruger). Preferably one of each in .38 and .357.

I'd also like to round out my auto collection with a 1911 in the future.

The Model 19 might be my favorite revolver/pistol of all time - what a perfect pointing gun. Bill Jordon sure got it right. I have a 4" and a 2.5" - they are perfect.

That's the same thing the guy at the shop we did the PPT said. It really doesn't look as bad as in that particular photo. I might just leave it.

BTW, I grew up in Pacifica. My folks are still there. How's that fog treating you ?

The 2.5 is hard to find here - took me a long time and a lot of money to get a nice one.

You should put some Ahrends grips on that 4" 19 - they are SUPER nice, very very comfortable to shoot, and look great. Plus Kim Ahrend is a class act and they are reasonably priced.

I was thinking about going with some Badgers, like the set on the little Colt. I'll check out the Ahrends too.

The Hogue monogrip that is now on it isn't too bad feeling, but I wished the factory grips were included for collector's reasons.
