Yes, no issues with this, short of it being an assault weapon (as configured) or a banned by name receiver.

Importation of real Uzi pistols stopped back in 1993 due to the Fed ban. The Micro Uzi is full-auto. There are ones (Uzi pistol) for sale on gunbroker listed under Uzi pistol.

The differences between Uzi pistol and Micro Uzi:

Oh, and the Uzi pistol is specifically banned on the CA AW list.

12276. As used in this chapter, "assault weapon" shall mean the
      following designated semiautomatic firearms:

      (b) All of the following specified pistols:
      (1) UZI.

OK, here are the issues, above and beyond the CA stuff

Uzi Pistol is made by IMI which is listed.

There is NOBODY that makes a receiver for the Micro/pistol that is not IMI.

And a full-size can not be cut down to a micro/pistol, only to a mini.

Not to mention the only way to get a parts kit is to cut up a IMI gun.

I believe you can cut down a full size to a micro/pistol its just a lot of work.

IIRC most of the FA transferable micro's started out life as Group Industries full sized guns (or receivers) which were cut down afterwards.

IIRC the roll reinforcement winds up looking different from the factory guns, but they still work ok.

Parts are a bit of a problem, but they do turn up.

I still think its worth looking into

**edit** Ok I looked into it Caliboy123 was correct, you can't cut down a big uzi into a micro, just a mini) It looks like the only way we have of getting them is to build them ourselves from scratch/80%

I checked it out today, too. Caliboy would know... he's been curious about this for a while, too.

I'm betting the amount of effort isn't likely to be much more on the full build/80% (if those even exist) route than it is for cutting down a full-size into a mini. We'd just need plans/dimensions.

OR buy a pistol off gun broker and have it sent to a manufacture out of state and have them create flats from it and the rest of the parts to build them.

Know anyone with said industrial connections or who might have already done said actions?

I believe they make a full sized uzi pistol receiver 80%, which can easily be cut down and re-welded to micro uzi size (all FA micro uzi's are made from cut down full sized uzi's anyway, so doing a semi should be easy)

I've seen some neat CNC made uzi 80%'s, but they were around $250 so I didn't buy them at the time.

Kentucky imports had 80% uzi receivers for $20 each for a while, but they haven't been available for a long long time.

If we lived in a free state we could get 100% uzi receivers for around $60 all day long and do custom builds on them, but CA's drop safety test put the nix on that plan (unless you know some LEO's who want to bring in a dozen or so of them that later decide they don't want them)
