    ar pistol SSE question

if you build an ar pistol from a 80% lower, is it legal to use a vise block for your sled mag for SSE? or do you need a real zero mag?
    thanks

Are you talking about one like this? That will lock into place when you insert into the mag well? With a magazine lock installed?

If so I would say; YES.
    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Why do you need to SSE if you built your AR from an 80%?

          It is off-roster.

Damiiaaannn is correct. CA law makes it illegal for any handgun to be manufactured within California, imported into California for sale, lent, given, kept for sale, or offered/exposed for sale unless that handgun model has passed firing, safety, and drop tests and is certified for sale in California by the Department of Justice.

If you build your own AR style pistol it is not on the roster so it must be built roster exempt.

Meaning you must build it as a Single Shot roster exempt compliant pistol.

So if you build an 80% lower into a pistol, it must stay in SS form?

Or do you get an FFL to transfer it to you as an SSE pistol?

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, its been a while since I read up on this subject.

If you build your own AR Pistol from a 80% lower, you must build it into a single shot pistol. Once you have built your single shot pistol, you are then free to modify that single shot pistol to a semi-automatic as long as you stay within the "evil features" guideline as per the flowchart.

Does it need to be registered?

                          Vol reg?

                          In what period of time?

If yes, What if it's disassembled while not being used....does that start the clock again?
