    Glock 3.5lb aftermarket connector problem

just picked up my glock 17 gen 3. brought it home, cleaned and oil/greased it. installed a SS guide rod and a 3.5lb connector. got the connector from amazon for cheap. did the 25 cent trigger job. brought it out to the range @ 15 yards with 5 in the mag. first 5 shots all hit the 6" shoot n see. trigger felt great, but then after 200 rounds it seemed like it was gumming up/getting stiffer. got worst and worst. at about 250 rounds the trigger felt like it was over 15 freakin pounds every shot. so i removed the POS connector and reinstalled the OEM one and it ran fine. any ideas to how this might have happened? any connectors you guys recommend? should i replace any springs? i only use this glock to shoot for groups at 15 yards. i seen the "glock brand 3.5 minus connector" reviews look good on it. what do you guys think? i also put the stock guide rod back in.

Edit : heres the connector i bought http://www.amazon.com/Newest-Glock-C...onnector+glock

I herd the LW ones are crap. A ghost ultimate or rocket is what you need.

Don't have any experience with LW connectors, I use OEM or Scherer connectors, and SS guide rods with no issue. One of my G17's has over 80,000 rounds thru it running a Scherer. Don't forget to put a drop of oil between the connector and the trigger cruciform.

I do run LW barrels and a LW G34 slide, all of which work fine.

          Charlie Vanek

I just ordered two GSSF trigger kits from Charlie Vanek, of Vanek Customs. One for my Glock 22 which I will get out of jail on the 12th, and one for the Glock 21SF which I ordered but haven't even put in jail for 10 days yet. I hope I don't have any of the problems you are describing in this thread. The kits I ordered were not cheap. Keep us posted.

Had a Ghost connector in my G23, it double fired...reinstalled the factory original and it work fine. Will never buy another after market part again.

Lone wolf makes great barrels. Go with the ghost connector tho

Funny I've always read the Ghost is crap. I tried the Lone Wolf 3.5 and it's the best drop in I've ever tried. I've read the Glock 3.5 is best..

How much of the plating did you take off when you did the 25 cent trigger job? Check out the plating near where the trigger bar contacts the connector.

I run only factory parts in my glocks. IMHO aftermarket parts are not as reliable as oem.
