hate to burst your bubble but the fence is a horrible idea as solution. Its a good temp fix/precaution though. My buddy had 3 pits and even though there really good dogs, they are smart *** dogs. Two learned that the 8" fence was too high to jump over, so they simply dug 2 holes under it and no one noticed until cops came by saying the neighbor called it in. Luckily these dogs are the friendliest but that doesnt seem to be the case in your situation. If the dog keeps acting agressive, keep your kids inside for the time being, keep reporting it in to the police and animal control. They will send people out to look at the dog if its agressive and will take the dog if they think so. If they do not think it's any harm warn your neighbor that if it comes at your kids you'll shoot it. With all the complaints you have filed you should be good.

Good fences make good nieghbors. Build the fence. Carrying in this situation is only going to help after your kid is mauled and then you might shoot your kid. Build a fence or move
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

Well as of now to be on the safe side I will agree with the fence now, me and the dogs owner spoke last night and he's asking me to cover 40% of the fence that will be 6 - 7' hign once finished. I'll end up porking out $450, considering the cost of a gun that may get confiscated if I end up shooting the dog and court appearances to clear my name, it is worth it. I did ask what is my guarantee that the dog won't bash in the new fence? Well when the new fence starts leaning towards my side again then it's a civil matter. BTW, Vallejo police and animal control are too busy to answer their phones or come out and see what the problem is. I've called many times and they haven't even returned my call. Just a recording. So I suppose if I need 911 due to criminal elements I'm to fend for myself. Late last night I heard police sirens plus a helicopter orbitting all around the neigborhood and I heard a car speeding through our neigborhood and stopped. Hmmmm.... so I jacked one round in the pipe and activated hammer drop on teh 5906 and went out of the front balcony for a smoke. I enjoyed watching the helo circlling around for about 5 minutes. In today's society maybe a pitbull is not a bad idea.

My next dog is going to be a doberman. Just as powerful, yet classier. I had a female when I was younger and she was a big baby. Very reclusive, and hardly barked when the doorbell rang.

Still when people came she was the one that people were apprehensive about.

If i had a human aggresive pitbull terrier i would put it down myself. These dogs were never intended to be guard dogs and very rarely over 50 lbs. for males.
Tell the guy to put his dog on a chain. That is the cheapest solution. It will also do more than a fence.
I guess you are not suppost to leave them on a chain over 3 hrs in Ca. but check with your county because most places could care less. It is a stupid law that puts humans in danger.

I highly agree! I did mention to the neighbor that if he doesn't do any training to his dog, nothing will stop his dog from bashing against the planned new fence. Once damage is done it will just give me more ammunition against getting rid of his dog.

I was just going through my knife collection the other day and out came the Cold Steel Trail Master that I had kept in the box. I think this will be enough for taming the neighbor's pitbull. I just wonder what damage dog blood will do to the high carbon blade.

Personally, I'd rather have a German Shepard (when own my own home). They're friendlier looking for kids/company, but nothing to sneer at for a burglar. Nothing like a security system that's super happy to see you when you get home.

I think trying to use a knife against a pissed-off dog is a very bad idea, but then I generally think using a knife as a weapon is a bad idea. If the good Lord had intended us to use knives, he wouldn't have given us Sam Colt, John Browning, and Gaston Glock.

The trailmaster is about a bit of a lb over in weight, with a 9.5" razor sharp blade and an overall length of 14.5 inches. See for yourself.
