G22 Barrel conversion pros and cons

the lone wolf conversion sounds like a great way to get a "second gun" outta my G22.

does anyone have any experiences good or bad to share?

Most of the further discussion beyond the clear concise answer is usually people just trying to convince others that the Penal Code/Case Law doesn't really apply because their uncle's friend's cousin's son-in-law works as a gardener for a retired judge from another state who might or might not have said he doesn't think it applies to a certain case that has absolutely nothing to do with the question the OP asked.

I have one for my G35. 3k rounds without issue. I did switch to a 9mm extractor and run 9mm mags though. It might work perfectly well with the .40 parts, but I never tried it.

        .357 Sig is .40 S&W necked down to .357. It'll work in your 35.

Sure. I'd do a 9mm conversion barrel. Save a lot of money on ammo. Drop in, no fitting, what's not to love. Like getting a G17 for 150 bucks. They shoot fine.

Thats what im talking about! seems 50/50 on the extractor change out.....
I think if I could do a barrel drop in and use G17 mags with little failures Id be happy.

I think an extractor is under $20, so no reason not to swap it.

                Do it!!!

I have a LWB and a couple G17 mags for my 2nd gen G22 and it's run great for at least 500 rnds. Haven't gotten around to getting the 9mm extractor just yet.

I just bought a complete G17 top end... was only about $50 more than buying a LWB and no extractor issues. The G22 ejector seems to work just fine with the 9mm top end.

I have no problems with my conversion barrels in my G23 and G35. I also run 9mm extractors and mags for the heck of it.

                      Pro: ammo versatility
Con: if you ever use the aftermarket barrel in a self defense situation it can look bad in a courtroom.

I have lone wolf 40-9 and 357Sig conversion barrels for my G22c, all work great, no issues, also no problems using G22 mags for any of the the calibers. Great way to get multiple calibers in one package.

Sounds fun...think im going to pick up the 9mm...since i dont already own that caliber.

Might have to wait a bit though looks like the standard barrel is on back order from LW. the threaded one is mighty tempting

^^ I don't think you can run threaded in CA, not without modifications to make the thread useless. I'm sure someone will chime in on this with more knowledge.
