Ive been browsing the for sales and seen several ar pistols built from 80%s for sale. As tempted as i am to pick one up i just want to make sure its legal to do so. It has been my understanding that completed 80% receivers cannot change ownership. If i am wrong, someone please set me straight

It is OK to buy it.Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

An individual cannot build an 80% with the INTENT to sell. But if one chooses to sell later, as long as it is properly marked and you go through an FFL you are fine.Starve the beast, move to a free state.

Is there anything keeping someone who knows how to use a mill from buying the jig and charging to do the machine work on the 80% lowers that people have purchased else where? Just a straight machine shop charge on a part that a customer brought in?
I don't have the capabilities or intentions of doing anything like this... just wonderingComment

If someone did this they would be "manufacturing" firearms without a license.Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Does not need to have any markings what so ever.
If you do decide to mark it make sure you mark it according to the law. I don't know all the specs but the lettering has to be so deep and so tall. Search the forum or the batf for your answer.Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.
