    Colt 1911 value.

What would the value of a late 1980s to early 1990s Combat elite ,and also a governtment satin nickle plated 1911,of the same period be?

Ive looked on gun broker ,but their priced about a $1000.00-1500.00 at the buy it now price for the Elite, but all have very few bids ,with none over 800.00 for either.

    Thanks

Think about what you see on gunbroker. Also, colts tend to hold their value compared to other companies in the same production class.

I think you can look up completed auctions & find out? "Buy It Now" prices are sometimes...ummm... "unrealistic."

You can also look on the Calguns WTS board. What it's worth is probably somewhere between "I'LL TAKE IT!" posted within an hour and the guy who's been bumping his thread for three months.

Condition is also a major factor.

Would really need pictures and a statement regarding mechanical condition/round count if known if trying to estimate value without seeing the pistols in person.

I'm curious about the Government Model in "satin nickle". Was this an aftermarket finish? Colt started making pistols in stainless in approximately 1983 and I thought they discontinued the earlier Satin Nickle finishes and later Coltguard finishes around then but I could certainly be mistaken. Does the Government Model say Series 80 on it?

Is it all original? A lot have the wrong grips, however I sold one foolishly to a buddy a while back for 1k.
That is ballpark range for minty correct piece I would say.

Its all stock colt, Still have the box it came in. The satin nickle finish has a rough texture to it, if that helps.less than a hundred round through it . its like mint,or very close to it.The slide says MK IV/series 70 has the stock black rubber grips . My dad gave it to me a long time ago. When he got it the guy said it had never been fired . My dad says he put less than a hundred through it, but thinks he only ran a box of 50, and it looks like thats the case.

I just dont know much about Colts other than i like them.

                Thanks guys.

Right. Go to the "Advanced" search section and search completed auctions. You will see what ones sold for as well as those that did not sell but got bids on. This will give you a better feeling of what people are willing to pay for an item and not what someone is asking for said item.

And, what Fish says about the CG's for sale section is true too. I just sold a gun on this forum and I had it priced right and it sold in about an hour to the first guy who emailed me.

                  Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

They both sound very nice. If they're in very good shape, they would not be hard to sell, and for a good price, especially in CA. Of course, one who sells may regret it later.
