    All of the true 1911 safeties have it just the opposite. The ones I used in the Military were like that, but so is my Kimber. And my Smith and Wesson M&P 40 is also the opposite. Up is safe. Down is shoot. That is what I am used to so I didn't like the Barretta style. Just a matter of personal preference though. If you like the weapon I have no argument. It was a very straight shooter.
