I think there would be a market, being as there are only two quality revolvers(not just function but fit and finish) S&W and Ruger, and Ruger aren't considered 'fancy' and they don't make a wide range like S&W.

I forgot to mention the "Rhino" and some German company that makes $4000 revolvers, but I'm talking more mainstream.

Still, I think the market would easily support another high quality 'full range' revolver maker with equal number of offerings as S&W has.

Some foreign maker could do it but might have trouble getting accepted at first if they just trickle in new models.

I heard DW is only now "coming back" under CZ.

No, but they are still out there and are great guns.

If you're only talking about new guns you also forgot Taurus.

I know some people don't like them but they are quality firearms.

S&W just brought back the 586.I'm encouraged by that.With strong recent gun sales ,there is demand for discontinued models.I'd love a new .22LR Diamondback.

Colt SA costs 3x as much as a Ruger and they can't keep them in stock.

My guess would be their 'authentic' builds are just more time consuming that more modern design like Ruger.
