I have an Pre War Regulation Police in 38S&W (NOT 38 SPL). Its an I-frame and I need a few new parts. I need a new hammer and a couple side plate screws. The I-frame is all but extinct but I'm hoping the parts from the J-frame will fit my I-frame. Anyone know, or know someone who knows if the hammer assembly and side plate screws are the same?

Well, thanks anyway guys. Anyone in the monterey bay have an older J-frame I can take a look at. I really need to compare the hammers. Or can someone take a couple pictures of theirs and maybe take a few measurements for me? Pleeeeeeeeeeeease? I've had this pistol for years and I'd like to get it finished. -
Go to the right forum for this stuff.

Thanks, I actually signed up yesterday to that forum and asked my question there. VERY knowledgeable people over there and they helped me with a list of people to contact for a replacement part. Hopefully I'll have a working pistol before the new year.1. Buy and carefully read the Kuhnhausen shop manual for those revolvers.
