    Useless snubby?

I am a big fan of 38 snubs...especially j frames and my Detective Special. But I never got the whole 2" large frame snub thing. To me, a large frame 30 ounce snub, especially with adjustable sights, just never made sense to me. So why is it that this 2" Model 15 is one of my favorite guns to shoot? I still can't figure it out.

3 day waiting period???? but I'm mad now!!!!!!

It's the boom and kick factor. Bigger boom/kick = more fun.

I felt the same way when I bought a Ruger Speed Six (S6) .38 Special with a 2 3/4" barrel. I already had a .357 mag with a 4" barrel at the time.
My first trip to the range was putting holes right smack in the middle of the target.
I than added Hogue Contour Grip and was even happier.
The S6 has spent every night for over 20 years within an arm's length of my pillow. It fits perfectly in my Homak nightstand safe with a couple of Speed loaders for added capacity.
I still haven't figured out why I like this gun so much.

          Hey Vic,

Wanna drive down to LA over the Holliday and sell me one? I've been looking for a snubbie to shoot revolver IDPA.

Been thinking about a Ruger LCR in .357 (so I have the option of .38 or .357). I've held a couple, and their light as hell, I just need to find one to rent so I can send a few down range with one before I commit.

Just get an n frame with a 2.5 inch barrel. 8 shots of 357 mag, what's not to like.

I'm the opposite. I find J frames too subtle because of the .38s. My favorite guns are my 2.5" K frames. They are very fun to shoot with .357s. My nightstand is a 66-5 with Pachmayr slims. My groups are tighter with revolvers versus pistols.

I'd like to have an L frame snubby to join these two, someday.

i would think that it is the balance point, between those, "hard to grip" small frame 38's, and this
