I run the extended mag and slide release on my G17. I've never accidentally hit either one, but when I do need to perform a function with them, it's just that much easier.

    Worth the money imo.

I respect your opinions on a lot of posts around here
But on this one I 'll take the other side of the coin
I'm sure for shooting events and pratice these work fine
But I carry my Glock in a Fobus molded holster and I found out the hard way that if pressure is placed on the side of the holster ( Getting in my Rhino and useing lap belts ,Crawling into a mine Ect ) that the extened mag release lets the mag pop out !

I've used mine in a Desantis Intruder and Blackhawk! holsters and have not hand any issues. The only time I've accidentally ejected my mag was when I set the pistol down too hard on it's side on a hard surface.

Common sense would say to try it, and if it doesn't work don't use it. No single configuration works for everyone, which is why it's important we test our gear before we plan on using it.

I run a Vickers extended release in my 17, and it's much better than a factory release. It doesn't stick out as much as the factory, so there's less risk of accidentally releasing the mag in the holster, and the rounded edges are quite nice.
Ah, that never crossed my mind. Makes perfect sense though.

Get the Tangodown/Larry Vickers extended mag release. Much nicer than the Glock factory one, and also get a set of steel night sights.

Get a factory extended slide stop (not "slide release") while you are at it, it is easier to lock your slide to the rear with the extended.

The Glock plastic factory sights really should be considered disposable, which is fine because it keeps the cost down while allowing you to choose the sights you want (which might not be factory Glock night sights).

I run an extended Vickers release on my competition G17 and G35, but no others. Being left handed, I don't need to and they tend to dig into my firing hand. OP, having to move the pistol in your hand to reach the release isn't unusual and an extended release may not solve that for you.

If you do mount one, check all of the holsters that you use with it and make sure there's no interference. It's always fun watching someone who hasn't draw his pistol and send the magazine skittering ahead of him because his holster depressed the mag release for him... as long as he isn't your backup, that is.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

on my raven holsters, some activate the extended mag release accidentally and some don't. i ended up going back to stock cause i forget which one.
